Description

was introduced in the late 1960s (NSN assigned 18 December 1967)

43 fuzes cannot safely be disarmed and therefore Tellermines fitted with this fuze type should be destroyed in situ

the wheel "Locking Pegs" (they stop the wheels falling off the axle) are also absent as are the two "Cap Locks" that lock the trunnions to the carriage

Constructed of grey/green "Felgrau" wool with red cap band

The reasons for the change are disputed but may have reflected awareness of the reservations being expressed as to the capability of the German signatories to agree the provisions of the full text or the continued uncertainty over communicating the "dismemberment clause" to the French

Everything about this image, including its presentation, makes it a splendid memento of the Civil War Era. This cased "Quarter Plate" (3. 25 x 4. 25 inch) tin type portrait shows three workmen in white uniforms with "Railroad" style caps. The uniforms they wear are quite soiled, suggesting they might be responsible for putting coal in the burner that fires the boiler. It's also possible that they are naval stokers.
